Every year, in December, the historic center of Montepulciano becomes a Christmas Village, located at Piazza Grande<\/strong>, where there is the Christmas market, the Poliziana Fortress, which for the occasion becomes the Castle of Santa Claus, and the garden of the Fortress, which houses the ice-skating rink.<\/p>\n

For this reason we suggest some activities you can do during your stay in Montepulciano during Christmas holidays and which events are suitable for a vacation with children.<\/p>\n

The festive atmosphere is certainly very inviting for kids, however the Christmas Village offers many initiatives suitable for everyone, ranging from workshops (for example, you can learn how to make wooden sculptures or how to make Christmas decorations) to guided tastings of Noble wine, hosted inside the Castle by the Consortium of Vino Nobile.<\/p>\n

First of all, it’s useful to know that the Village will be open every day from December 22nd to January 7th, while the Castle has these opening times: 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 26th December from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm, December 27th to January 7th from 2:30 pm to 7:00 pm, on January 6th from 10:30 am to 7:30 pm.<\/p>\n

The market consists 80 wooden houses, decorated for Christmas , located between Piazza Grande, Via San Donato, Piazza Danesi and Via del Leone.<\/p>\n

If you still have to make gifts, here you will find original products and tasty gastronomic specialties: local artisans offer Christmas decorations, accessories and clothing, exclusive creations, sweets, cheeses and salami typical of Tuscany.<\/p>\n

The ice-skating rink is ideal for those who want to have fun outdoors in the beautiful setting of the historic center of the hamlet, as it is suitable for both amateurs and expert ice skaters.<\/p>\n

The carousel and the mini ranch with ponies are the attractions that will amuse the children and make their stay in Montepulciano truly unforgettable.<\/p>\n

The Castle is a must for families who want to give their children a day full of magic shows, creative workshops, group games and, of course, an encounter with Santa to give him the Christmas letter.<\/p>\n

The night of December 31st in Montepulciano will be celebrated at Piazza Grande from 5:00 pm onwards with a DJ set, followed, at 10:00 pm, from the live concert of Lucia Nuzzo & BITLiveMusic and the midnight toast.<\/p>\n
